The study presents three images of St. Joseph included in selected writings the last popes: John Paul II, Benedict XVI and Francis. It notes that despite same data from Scripture, analysed are different. Their diversity results different sources used theological reflection as well methods interpretation. II interprets figure Guardian Redeemer light God revealing Himself, carrying out His eternal plan. emphasis was placed on God’s plan actualized earthly history human events. This made it possible to show both realization divine concrete terms, cooperation, faith obedience carpenters Nazareth this work.
 In turn, Cardinal Ratzinger shows based message contained a Baroque relief Portuguese altar. symbolic language anonymous sculptor allowed theologian draw attention certain aspects difficult see Gospels Childhood.
